For I am myself. Nothing more.

For I am myself. Nothing more.

(Written by Isaia in a blog from the viewpoint of one of her characters. It's at the very bottom of the first post there)

That struck me... I've been kinda down on myself lately 'cause I feel like a burden to certain people. Down on myself for not being the perfect sort of person that people naturally flock to.

But that statement struck me. "For I am myself. Nothing more." I am me. No matter what I try to do, I am me. If people don't like me, they don't like me. So what good will it do to try and make them like me? If they don't like me, then they aren't worth it.

Now that's not to say that you shouldn't try to make yourself a likable person.

But I need to try and be myself. Being me is the only way I can truly find people who will like me. ^.^

Friendship

Been thinking about friends lately. Specifically how we meet them. (One thing with blogs, I'm never quite sure how to start a post. >.O Introductions have never been my strong point. Once I'm going I'm fine, but starting?... Yeah... )

I have many friends, most have all moved away, but they're there... somewhere... And I've been thinking of the nature of friends and how we meet them.

A week and a half ago I got to see one of my dear friends and one I've known a very long time. We'll call her Lola ('cause I go with the whole thing of not giving out real info... so there!). Now, like I said, Lola and I have been friends for a long time... Many, many years. Well we were talking about how we met.

*time travel down memory lane*
Now I'd just moved, I had no friends yet, and Lola was having a birthday party. Now, we didn't know each other that well yet. So she was inviting all these people to her party, and one of her friends couldn't come. We'll call her Fei. Well since she couldn't come, Lola was complaining to her mom that "Fei" couldn't come. Well, her mom heard that, and thought she meant me. (note: my blog name here is Fei-chan) So Lola's mom called my parents and said, "Hey, my daughter wants your daughter to come to her party."
My mom said that was fine. So, obediently, I went to the birthday party of someone I didn't know... No, not awkward... not awkward at all... Especially for our parents once this was all figured out.

Now Lola, dear Lola, was very sweet to me. I didn't know anyone, keep in mind I'd only recently moved, and so she took special time out for me. Her mom may have talked to her, I'm not sure. But still, she took the time out to talk to me and make sure I was enjoying myself. ^.^

And we've been best buds ever since. ^.^
*end flashback*

So I tell you this story, partly to shout out to Lola (Hi Lola!!), and partly to say how some simple little thing can really change your life. Through this very innocent mistake, I now have one of my best friends.

I've met a lot of my friends through odd things like that. And it's just cool how easily friendships can be forged. One of my friends I met because we were in gym class together and her locker door kept hitting me. One I met because her mom and my mom were friends and I heard she liked to read (I love reading). One I met because we had assigned seating and we happened to sit together...

The nature of friendship is a funny thing.

So be nice to people! You never know where you might find an unexpected friend. ^.^

"But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life; and thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things, the greater part of life is sunshine". ~ Thomas Jefferson

People-ness

>.O ... I have the urge to blog... No real idea of what to say, but the urge is there just the same...

Hm... I wonder what I shall say.

I just have the urge to talk... Huh... Something about people... I mean, I think I want to talk about people. Odd creatures that they are... But what?...

Probably how it's struck me lately how... human we all are. We're all so different. We like different things, we look different, we have different plans in life.

But we're also very similar too. We all eat, sleep, etc. But also... How can I say it...? All those fancy universal things. We all love, fear, envy, hope, dream... And I dunno, that's just been striking me lately. We all have those things. They may be triggered by different things, but we all have them. We're just so... human.

Huh... didn't mean to be that deep. Meant to be more light. Um... Flying Hippos! There's nothing lighter then a flying hippo, right? ^.^

August Rush

August Rush... Well, I just got done watching the movie. And while I didn't care for parts of it (Yes, I realize the outside world (I dislike the term "real world" but that's a post for another day) uses bad language, that doesn't mean I have to listen to it >.<), I did really enjoy it. Um... I Really have no idea what to say, but I feel I have to say something...

...pesky muse...

*sighs, and runs fingers through hair* Wow... That movie would speak to anyone with a muse or with the urge to be creative. I loved seeing August's creative process. I think anyone with a muse of some sort goes through that to a lesser or greater extent. That... urge to create, even if you're not quite sure how.

And I have to say, part of the reason for this post is the hope that the stars in my eyes will come on to the page. And it'd odd, 'cause I was only partially happy with the movie. I think I heard too much about it before hand... Dunno?...

The story was so-so, but how it was put forth... Wow... The music was just phenomenal. It moved me. And I think the whole movie would move anyone, whether it's to the edge of your seat or out the back door. But the music especially hit me. Especially when August was playing. His sheer joy, especially when he was just starting and he was playing an instrument for the first time. That joy...

I think I connected with that because that's how I feel when I create or do art and I'm really into a particular project. I can never hope to be a genius, prodigy, or even famous for what I do... But I hope to always have that joy when I create something.

I think that's what everyone's looking for. That joy... Specifically in whatever your job is, and what you choose to do with your life, but in everyday things too.

I don't mean to get all preachy, but I suppose that's what the gospel brings... Joy. I mean, it's called the plan of happiness isn't it?

---------
Edit: Example from the movie- Trailor that shows his joy
There's more on youtube, but I thought this was a good example.

POWER!!

Wow... It's been like... days since I posted... wow...
Probably 'cause I have this thought in my head that I have to have something phenominal to say in order to post... But then I remember this is MY blog... I can do what I want... >.<

All about me!

The time has come, the blogger said, to speak of many things. Of the greatness, the wonderfulness, the awesomeness of ME! ^.^

Yeah, the blog's a week old and I figured it was about time to give a little introduction. I origionally meant this to be my first post, but my pesky muse wouldn't let me! >.<

I remember once hearing a quote that said something like "Radio is the place for people who have nothing to say, to talk to people that aren't listening." I've always thought that was funny, and I picture my blog like that too. Although hopefully I'll run across a relevant thought once in a while, and hopefully at least someone out there will listen sometimes...

Now...hm... where to start... Well, as to why I finally have a blog, that's all Schmetterling's fault, as I believe I mentioned in my first post. ^.~ I've always thought of blogs as either a journal, and why would I want one if I write in my journal every night anyway, I'm far too lazy to write the same thing twice; or as something where you tell the world your age, address and blood type. I'm too afraid of the Internet for that... But then I started reading Schmetterling's blog, and his was random thoughts and whatnot that he had. So I figured, "Hey! I can do that!" So here I be! ^.^ A convicted and addicted blogger.

As far as the name "The Eternal Puppy Station" I actually have a reason for that. (I usually have some sort of reason for my randomness, even if it's just for the sake of being random)
Station comes from my quote above about the radio. This is my station to have nothing to say and talk anyway. ^.^
Eternal Puppy comes from my vision of myself. I've always thought of myself as a puppy. And always a puppy, never a dog, so that's where the eternal comes in. Why a puppy? Well... For several reasons. Mainly that puppies are always playful, even when other people aren't. This can get them in trouble, 'cause they feel like playing even when others don't... ^.^; But you love them anyway, right? O.O

Um... some of my characteristics... Well, I can't spell for the life of me, as I'm sure some of you have noticed. I love laughing and making others laugh, and I flatter myself with thoughts of having some artistic ability. (My works) Um... I have to have balance in my life, and I need to feel prepared or else I stress.

So... yeah. ^.^ That be general me-ness.
Ja!

My Grandma's wedding

Well... as of 4:30 today, my grandmother is married. Wow... Still kinda odd thought. But, like I said before, I'm way happy for her. Both of them are just so happy. ^.^ It's great to see.

So yeah... the ceremony went really well. Everything went really smooth. ^.^ We went over to her house in T town (I try to keep real details of my life secret in case the FBI try to find me... ^.^ So unless you know me in real life you don't know what I'm talking about. As much as I love the Internet, it still scares me a bit.). We mainly held her head on straight as she was getting ready. Heh, she was very nervous. Excited, but nervous.

We got to the church about 3:30. And no, they weren't sealed in the temple... (I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or Mormons as we're called sometimes. And where the typical wedding ceremony is "till death do you part" we have a... how can I say this... In our temples, we believe you can be sealed/married for time and all eternity... Does that make sense? I hope so...) (some official LDS comments on Temples<-- click me!) The church was set up really nice. Some friends of ours set everything up. It looked really pretty. All white and this.... sorta slightly purple crimson color... What is that? Wine red! Really nice. Um... lots of gauzy stuff everywhere, lots of flowers... And food. ^.^ The food was excellent. My favorite was the chocolate dipped strawberries. ^.^ But they had little sandwiches too, thoes were good.

Um... Around 4, we all went into the room where they were going to get married. Short and sweet, but very cool. ^.^ Gramma was absolutely beaming. ^.^ She was nervous, you could tell, but still extreemely happy. Him too.

Then after that we had the reception. Same building, different room. Everyone came up and congradualated the newlyweds. I was kinda bored at that point, but Gramma enjoyed it. I just didn't really have anyone my age to talk to. Some of the adults did that whole "Hey, how are you? How's school? Bye." thing. It was nice that they said hi, but the conversation didn't last long... Not that I would really know what to say anyway... I don't have a talent for talking to people I don't know very well. I should practice, I know... But people scare me. >.o They're so... normal... *shudder* It's creepy...

Anyway, it went really well. ^.^ Ja!
