Oddly worded 2
This one was on Yahoo news... It was actually a story how a man found his sister... but I thought it was funny. ^.^
And this one... Now, I took this picture. It is of a hospital/pediatrician type place... I didn't edit it or anything, this is really what the sign says...
And in case you can't read it:
Urgent Care
Saturday only
9:00 to 12:00
They were closed when I passed by...
Odd anyone?

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit
"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."
(I was reading it in 3 Nephi, but this statement is also in Matthew)
Now, I have heard the second part referred to a lot, or at least I've noticed it more then I have the first half. A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit. As I take it, a bad person... Well, let me say that a person with bad intentions, can not do something good. It won't do him any good. (bad tree, no good fruit) Ex: If you give someone a gift, but do it grudgingly, then it won't do you any good. It won't bring you closer to eternal salvation.
But the first part... "A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit,"... That really caught my attention yesterday.
I don't know that I've ever really thought about that... Now, I don't take it to mean that a good person (the tree) can never do anything wrong (bad fruit). I think of myself as a good person, and I know I've done my share of bad things...
The main thought that comes to my head about this is that with good intentions, even if they fail, you did your part. You did good.
I find that very uplifting. Even if you fail. Even if you had the best intentions and the thing you were trying to do failed horribly... it's ok.
Now, I should probably clarify my thoughts... Maybe intentions isn't the best word to use... If you... If you truly believe you are doing the right thing. Not for the press, not because that cute guy next door is doing it, not for Aunt Marge... But if you truly believe you are doing the right thing...
I'm reminded of a "Sabrina: The Teenage Witch" episode I saw... Sabrina was on a guilt trip on a bus, and one of the other travelers on the guilt trip (don't blame me, I don't write the jokes) was having this sort of problems. He was a financial advisor who gave out stocks advice. And lately the advice he had given people had pretty much left them bankrupt. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, he felt kinda bad. Sabrina pointed out to him that it wasn't his fault. The stocks are a risky business. But if he had given them the advice in the belief that it was the right thing, he had no reason to feel guilty.
That's what this reminds me of. If you are a good tree, if you are a good person, and you try your best, then you cannot bring forth bad fruit. You cannot do bad things.
A good tree cannot bring for evil fruit...
Cannot...

Oddly worded...
(Yeah, I realize I'm echoing Schmetter's post about Jetblue... I didn't realize that until after I'd started writing. So there. ;p )
I heard this one on a commercial a few years ago on TV for a service that reconnected your phone lines if you'd been disconnected.
"If you've been disconnected, call us at..."
Um...?
This one was a few years ago, but sooner then the one above. I forget when, but there were power outages around town. I was watching the news and they were reporting the power outages, and asking people to report if they had lost power in their area...
The people...
On TV,
were asking if you had lost power.
Does your TV work without power??
And this one I saw today as I was filling out an on-line job application.
Can you operate a computer?
...
Now, let me say that again just in case...
And on-line application is asking if I can operate a computer...?
^.^ Don't you love laughing at professional mistakes?
I know I do.
Schadenfreude!
(Don't know if I'm using it right... but I think so... *shrug*)

Favorites
Since I have some new readers, I figured I'd post some randomness about myself.
You know, those "Getting to know you" type questions that give you random info, but not really any real info?... Like those quizzes that you always get in emails. Yeah, I figured I'd answer a few of those for ya. ^.^
Favorite color: Well... if you want just one, green. Really, I like the jewel tones: red, blue, green and purple.
Favorite instrument: Violin!! On occasion followed closely by the piano, and sometimes by the guitar... But definitely violin. ^.^
Favorite food: Yes
Favorite book: ... Yeah, if you know me at all, you know I would have too much trouble getting a single answer... And if I listed all of my favorite books, we'd be here all day... Although I did just finish "Cry of the Icemark" by Stuart Hill. I really liked it. ^.^ It's one of the best books I've read in a while.
Favorite movie: Hm... Another hard one... Like books, I have several, but not quite such a bit list that I can't pin down some favorites.
Secondhand Lions, I LOVE this movie... I have to ask my parents for permission to watch this movie I've watched it so much... Definitely one of my favs. (oh, but I do have an edited copy... 'Cause the uncles swear... >.O Sweary no likey)
Howl's Moving Castle. ^.^ I love Miyazaki... I really do... HMC is one of my favs of his. I love them all though.
Whisper of the Heart. If I remember right, it was directed by Miyazaki... Not sure... Awesome movie though. ^.^ If I need a creative boost, this is the movie I go for.
Finding Neverland. I always cry when I watch this movie... Still, it is one of my favs. :')
I like a lot of old movies too, How to Steal a Million, the Thin Man movies... But I can't really think of that many names of them... And over all, they're not really my favorites. Good, but not favorite. Although if I'm in the mood for a good movie, I'll go to an old movie, 'cause I think there's a higher concentration of good movies there.
Favorite actor: Johnny Depp. And no, it's not because he's dashing and handsome and whatnot... I honestly think he's a great actor. His ability to create such varied and different characters, and make them believable astounds me... For example, Jack Sparrow from Pirates, Victor from Corpse Bride, Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and J.M. Barrie from Finding Neverland. All very different characters, and all very believable.
Favorite singer/band: Hm... Well, lately I've been listening to Jason Mraz. I really enjoy his sound. I like Nickleback's sound too. Um... Josh Groban of course, Michael Buble, Chris Daughtry... Oh, Rascall Flatts is always good. ^.^ So... yeah. I pretty much like anything that's clean. The only music I flat out don't like is rap and hard rock that screams. >.O I remember one of my friends said something like "It reminds me of an animal being run over on train tracks." ^.^ I've always thought that fits rather nicely.
Favorite T.V. show: ATLA... ^.^ Awesome, awesome show. ^.^ Toph rocks!! Literally! ... What? You don't know ATLA? Yeah, well that's probably 'cause it's an animated cartoon on Nick with a target demographic of 10year old boys... (see, this is why I don't think of myself as an adult) The real name is Avatar: The Last Airbender. Maybe you've heard of it, maybe not. Wiki has some stuff on it, although it is sadly lacking in pictures... Avatar Spirit is one of the main sites for fans, and has a lot more info, if you are so inclined...
And... yeah. I can't think of anything else really. (Any requests, and I'll talk with my consultant. For a small fee, I'll see what I can do. ^.~)
